Tony Martin, MCIPR

Joint Managing Director

Tony is an active director of Portfolio Communications and contributes to many of our client accounts. He has represented clients across a wide variety of sectors including technology, telecomms, electronics, and professional services such as management consultancy, accountancy, financial services, as well as local and central government.

 

Before moving into PR, Tony was a journalist in the accountancy and business press, with a particular focus on the application of information technology and computing in business and finance.

 

Tony enjoys good food and wine, travel, skiing and sailing – in no particular order – and generally making the most of life.

 

Sheila Gimson, MCIPR

Joint Managing Director

As well as corporate and management responsibilities within the company, Sheila is an active account handler, working for clients in the renewable energy, environment, paper and packaging sectors amongst others. She is a guiding hand in crisis and change communications.

 

Sheila founded Portfolio Communications together with Tony Martin in 1988. Previously both were directors of Phoenix PR, but saw the opportunity to set up a consultancy that could provide excellent service to both technology and business to business clients.

 

Outside the office, Sheila helps with her daughter’s homework, manages the house and garden, and is gradually exploring some of the furthest corners of Turkey.

 

Mark Westaby

Director

Mark works across a broad range of clients as head of the company’s market research, PR evaluation and social media measurement activities.

 

Having worked in PR for over 25 years, Mark was previously a director of one of the UK’s largest PR consultancies, Countrywide Communications (London), now Porter Novelli. In the same year that he joined Portfolio he also founded Metrica, now Europe’s largest independent media evaluation company. Mark holds an honours degree in engineering and sits on the board of the International Association of Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, of which he is a founding fellow. 

 

Mark lives in South Bucks with his wife, daughter and cat; and, as well as being an avid cricket lover, is a keen supporter of his beloved home-town football club, Scunthorpe United.

 

Louisa Constable

Director

Louisa has nearly 15 years experience in the communications industry, specialising in IT, corporate and business-to-business PR.  Her core skills include strategy and planning, media relations and analyst relations. Advising on corporate communications issues, including rebranding, web design and crisis communications, Louisa has also implemented a variety of high profile direct mail campaigns and market research launches.

 

Louisa currently leads a number of key accounts at Portfolio including MidlandHR, NetBenefit, Networks First and Select Education.  As well as her responsibilities for clients, Louisa focuses on internal quality management, client satisfaction and new business marketing.

 

A BA (Hons) graduate in English and History, Louisa combined her degree with a specialist module on Information Technology.

 

Out of work Louisa is kept extremely busy with her two young children, but when she has a moment to herself she enjoys reading, the theatre and attempting to keep fit.

 

Jonathan Bawden

Senior Account Manager

Jonathan has risen quickly through the ranks since joining Portfolio as an account executive. He is now a senior account manager specialising in the B2B technology and education markets.

 

With a keen eye for detail and the ability to foster creativity amongst his teams, Jonathan ensures PR campaigns maintain momentum and realise their objectives. As an ex-teacher, Jonathan provides authoritative strategic consultancy for education clients, translating messages effectively to target audiences.

 

Jonathan holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public and Media Relations from Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, and has worked as a media relations consultant with global consumer technology companies including Samsung and Symantec. 

 

Outside of work Jonathan has a love of music, film and cooking. He also takes every opportunity to visit his home-town of Swansea and is a self confessed ‘gadget-geek’.

 

Alex Moorhouse

Account Manager

Alex has developed an array of skills during his career, starting  in marketing services before moving into digital media.  In PR he particularly enjoys building client and journalist relationships and has experience in working for clients in banking, insurance, education, broadcast, IT and human resources. 

 

Alex believes his Masters degree in marketing and a BSc in Behavioural Sciences (Psychology and Biology) have been invaluable in establishing the best way for clients to communicate their messages to target audiences.

 

In his spare time Alex runs a five-a-side football team, plays tennis, dances salsa and loves playing the guitar.

 

Claudia Kellermann

Account Manager

Claudia is an account manager at Portfolio, working on a broad range of B2B technology clients.

 

Often the first point of contact for client spokespeople, Claudia has built excellent relationships with key members of the press through pitching stories, forward feature placements and writing by-lined articles. She is well-versed in production of measurement, activity and media planning reports to help keep clients up to speed with programme implementation and results. 

 

Claudia is a member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) FrontLine team, which aims to equip the PR industry’s young professionals with technical and strategic know-how.

 

Born and raised in South Africa, Claudia moved to London following completion of a BA in corporate communications. Her first PR job was in the hotel and restaurant industry, followed by a period in financial PR.

 

In her spare time, Claudia dabbles in photography, guitar and baking and is constructing a tourism website for her home country, South Africa.
